Grow More Than a Garden
Imagine harvesting fresh vegetables just steps from your neighborhood, learning alongside fellow gardeners, and becoming part of a welcoming community that values sustainability, stewardship, and connection. At Jefferson Avenue Community Garden, every garden plot is more than a place to grow food—it's an opportunity to build friendships, learn new skills, and help cultivate a thriving community.
Whether you're an experienced gardener or planting your very first seed, we welcome individuals and families who are excited to learn, contribute, and share in the care of our community garden.
Gardening at JACG offers much more than a place to grow vegetables. Members become part of a vibrant community dedicated to healthy food, environmental stewardship, and neighborly collaboration.
As a gardener, you'll enjoy:
Your own garden plot to grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other approved plants.
Access to shared tools, water, compost, and common garden resources.
Opportunities to learn through workshops, seasonal events, and fellow gardeners.
A welcoming and inclusive community where gardeners support one another.
The satisfaction of helping care for a shared neighborhood asset.
Who Can Become a Gardener?
Garden plots are available to individuals and families who are committed to actively maintaining their plots and contributing to the success of the garden community.
No gardening experience is required. We welcome gardeners of all skill levels and encourage new gardeners to learn alongside experienced members.

Garden Membership
A garden membership provides more than an individual plot—it connects you to a community of neighbors who share a passion for gardening, learning, and environmental stewardship. Members enjoy access to an assigned garden plot, shared water access, community tools and equipment, composting resources, educational opportunities, volunteer workdays, and seasonal events that bring gardeners together throughout the year.
Garden memberships are offered on an annual basis and are subject to plot availability. Members are asked to actively care for their garden plots, participate in the required volunteer hours, and help maintain the shared spaces that make JACG a welcoming place for everyone. By working together, we create a thriving garden that benefits both its members and the surrounding community.
Current membership dues ($120-150/annually), plot sizes, volunteer expectations, and additional gardening guidelines are available during the application process.
